This wonderful 16" (40.5cm) coconut husk fiber necklace was woven by an expert artisan, one of a handful of craftsmen who are keeping traditional Polynesian weaving arts alive. The weaver of this piece is well respected and well known for his superb and intricate designs and his expert craftsmanship. This is a simpler design than some other necklaces made by this artist. The necklace meets in the middle at a woven net that encapsulates an 11-12mm Tahitian black pearl. This understated but classical design is simple but still beautifully displays the skillful workmanship of the weaver.
